Mikel Arteta will be hoping his Arsenal side can continue their momentum from this season going into the next campaign. The Gunners have impressed for the majority of the season, putting themselves into the driving seat for a top four finish this season.

If they are to finish in fourth, the Spaniard will have guided the side back to the Champions League after five-years away from Europe’s top competition. It will mean that the squad will have to be added to, if they hope to continue going into next season.

Squad depth in particular has been a concern, with a number of players also set to leave the club on free transfers. With that said, here’s a look at a few potential signings in the summer and how the side will lineup with them added.

Alexander Isak

If there is one area that the club will be desperate to bolster in the summer, it’s at striker, with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to leave the club as free agents. It would leave Arteta with no recognised first-team centre-forwards, outlining the need to sign one.

Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak has been linked with a move to the Emirates and is a plausible option for next season, due to his release clause. The Sweden international has an eye for goal as well as good technique for his size, but struggles in the air.

He could be one that starts up front next season, with players around him in the frontline able to create plenty of chances.

Youri Tielemans

Another player who has been linked with a move to Arsenal is Leicester’s Youri Tielemans. The box-to-box midfielder could suit the role currently occupied by Granit Xhaka higher up the pitch and influencing attacks.

The 24-year-old also has an eye for goal, which could be more than useful going forward. His current deal expires in 2023 and a standoff with the Foxes may open the opportunity to move.

Moussa Diaby

While it isn’t a position that the Gunners necessarily need to strengthen in, having quality in depth in the wide areas certainly wouldn’t hurt. That’s where Bayer Leverkusen winger Moussa Diaby comes in.

The Frenchman, who can play on both wings, has impressed in the Bundesliga with 12 goals and seven assists in 25 appearances. The club are said to be willing to let him go if their valuation is met, with Arsenal linked.
