Arsenal could make a summer move for highly-rated Rennes midfielder Lesley Ugochukwu, French outlet L’Equipe reports.
The Gunners were heavily linked with Eduardo Camavinga last summer, but he ended up choosing Real Madrid instead.
His departure paved the way for Ogochukwu to make his breakthrough. He has already made 17 appearances this season.
According to L’Equipe, the Gunners like the profile of the 18-year-old, and are more and more convinced to sign him.
It is added that they consider him as a ‘young Patrick Vieira‘, and will look to land his services ahead of Spurs and other rivals.
However, Rennes are unlikely to let go of their prized asset on the cheap. It won’t be a surprise if they demand over €40 million.
Arsenal are expected to pursue at least one central midfielder this summer, and have been linked with several other players.
